OMG freakout begins... Now

Today I decided on a whim to quit this stupid Craigslist nonsense and just hold a yard sale. So, I put up an ad on Craigslist (shut up) to advertise my yard sale, for TOMORROW. (Canada people, it's a holiday ok?)

Ohhh, tonight is gonna be an all-nighter, methinks.

Who's dumb idea was this anyway, to hold a last-minute, thrown-together yard sale with three kids and no help? Lily, Rachel, consider yourselves drafted.

Goal: $100

I'll let you know how it goes. If I don't post tomorrow night, it either went so well that I'm exhausted, so poorly that I'm drunk, or I just gave up and sold myself into slavery.

Wish me luck!

Bordom - not curiosity - killed the cat

Have you even been really bored, so you go on Craigslist to tool around? And then once you've run out of sections of CL that interest you to look at, you start to look at the non-interesting categories? Have you ever clicked on the "Casual Encounters" tab?

No? Then DON'T.

Furthermore, do NOT click on any ad therein with a pic attached. Just DON'T.

I did. That is where I learned the following:

  1. Somewhere, someone has a fetish for EVERYTHING. I understand the dress-up ones, but used maxi pads? Defecation? Hemmoroids? I have been schooled.
  2. "Before Work" is the most popular time for a BJ.
  3. Some of the men in my area should be porn actors.
  4. Most of the women should not.
  5. You really can tell the fake boobs from the real ones. Huh.
  6. Pregnant women are in surprising demand.
  7. The ferry from here to the mainland is just one big orgy on water. I'll be staying in my car from now on.
  8. "Young" is mid-30's.
  9. A suspicious number of posters seem to be "just passing through".
  10. If you can host - you can have anything you want.

I'm actually a little alarmed. I go out into the town, and all these people are just walkin' around, acting all normal... Now I know that when the lights go out, the freakshow begins!

Back at it!

Craigslisting, that is. I thought I got rid of all my unnecessary junk. I was wrong.

Wish me luck!

Another Rule for Craigslisting, ATK*

(*According To Kira)

12.) If you say you're going to come for something, PLEASE come for it! Not that I don't enjoy spending all day stuck at home with my piece of furniture you said you were "in love with", but in most cases I've got other people interested in the same piece who WOULD come and get it, but I've told them all it's pending YOUR pickup and then you never pick it up... Sheesh. Don't make me start posting "First come, first served", I don't like it!!!

Ok, ok, I talk about Craigslist too much...

But I made $50 before I even woke up this morning. How's YOUR day?

*snicker*

Craigslisting, by the numbers

7 - Days since I started Craigslisting.
73 - Number of items I currently have "for sale".
225 - amount of money, in dollars, that I've currently MADE via Craigslist.
425 - amount of money, in dollars, that I've SPENT via Craigslist.
3 - number of previous posts in which I've mentioned Craigslist.
11 - current number of "rules" - according to me - for posting on Craigslist.
1795 - amount of money, in dollars, that I stand to make if everything I have for sale is sold for my asking price.
<1 - percentage of chance the above mentioned will actually happen.
1 - number of husbands I have who do not understand my obsession. Actually, it's also the number of husbands I have total.
65 - the number of seconds' worth of patience that I have when it comes to selling on Craigslist.
3 - the number of deals that have fallen through for me so far.
4 - number of items I currently have that are "pending".
2 - number of items I've sold via craigslist before I even got a chance to post them.
2 - number of people, judging by IP address tracking, who have found my blog via my Craigslistings.
1 - One Monkey Puzzle Tree, found for me by a very helpful fellow Craigslister. Thank you! :)
